The River Dee
This beautiful secluded spot, locally know as Sluievannachie,
sits on a raised river terrace amongst a magnificent oak wood overlooking
the Dee, close to the centre of Ballater. It provides convenient
access to some glorious walks up river along the old railway line
and down river around the golf course, as well as a very pleasant
picnic spot.
Location
36 miles (50mins) west of Aberdeen, on the A93.
Facilities
- Car park and picnic site
- All abilities path on level surfaces leads out of the car park down
river beside the golf course, with magnificent views of the River Dee and surrounding
countryside. Ideal for those with push chairs, wheelchairs and the less abled.

to the magnificent walk up Craigendarroch Hill which sits above Ballater.
